Yellow/Green Group Lessons
Lessons for Students who have experience riding and/or have completed red level lessons
Service Description
Yellow/Green group lessons are for students who have experience riding. This is for ages 8 and up. In the group setting, students will learn both riding and horsemanship skills each week. Some of the topics students will learn are: -How to independently tack their horse -Posting and diagonals -Beginning canter work -How to ride serpentines, figure 8's and other shapes -Further developing 2 point -Trot pole grids -Blanketing the horse -Applying boots -Caring for a horse after working out -Feeding principals -Measuring a horse -Injuries and when to call a vet -Jogging in hand -Equine first aid, deworming, bandaging Students will have the ability to test out of the level at the end of the month. All students will receive a study guide to take home as well as ribbons and certificates when they test out of the level. Paddock or similar riding boots, and a helmet are required. Leggings or stretchy pants are OK to use, but breeches and half chaps are recommended. Please dress for the weather. The arena is not heated. Layers are encouraged in cold months. Gloves are good to ride in, mittens are not allowed. Hats made to sit over the helmet are good to wear, but for safety reasons hats and ear warmers are not permitted under the helmets. This class is a mix of both mounted and unmounted learning. In the case of extreme weather, class will be held inside the heated barn.

Lessons and classes are unable to be rescheduled. Due to limited space, all bookings are final. Please make sure the date and time work for your needs prior to booking. All classes for students aged 5 and older are drop off, however if the student is under 18 a parent/guardian must fill out the liability forms. Please bring a water bottle and a snack for those attending the class. If it is not a mounted class, any close toed shoe will be fine. If there is riding, the shoe or boot must have a heel to prevent it from slipping through the stirrup. Helmets are required only if riding is involved. The barn is heated, but the arena is not. Please dress according to the weather. Most of the classes will be going outside at some point. If the student is ill, please stay home and let us know as soon as possible. We would like to keep everybody healthy at the barn!
